Lipoabdominoplasty: An Exciting New Tummy Tuck

shutterstock_23901841

Many of our Phoenix Plastic Surgery patients are interested in the new combination tummy tuck and liposuction operation called Lipoabdominoplasty. This new type of tummy tuck is intended for a patient who has more excess fat in his or her abdomen region, but less excess skin than a traditional tummy tuck patient.

If you opt for the Lipoabdominoplasty operation, your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon will first perform liposuction of your entire abdomen and hip region, beautifully recontouring these areas. The skin of the abdomen is pulled forward to help define the waistline and tighten some of the areas even in the back of the waistline area. In addition, once the liposuction of the abdominal area is complete, the skin is pulled taut from the rib cage down to the umbilicus, tightening the whole front abdomen area. Excess skin is removed via a curving incision from the public region to the hip area.

The end result of this exciting new procedure is a beautiful contoured waist and front profile from the ribcage to the pubic area, and with the added benefit of having no extra pockets of exercise resistant fat to battle with afterward! Lipoabdominoplasty is a new and exciting development in body contouring for all patients as well as those were undergone massive weight loss after bariatric surgery. Board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Steven Gitt is one of the few plastic surgeons in this part of the country who has substantial experience in performing this new and very special operation.

Breast Augmentation Reasons

Why discuss Breast augmentation reasons when it is the best procedure for any woman who wants to change the look and/or feel of her breasts. This can include wanting a bigger cup size, giving the breast an overall lift or for corrective surgery to alter the look of the breasts after a pregnancy occurs or if a mastectomy has been performed. Having this type of procedure done can also build up your self-confidence and give you the body that you have always dreamed of and wanted.

The actual procedure is one that can be done in three ways. An incision can be made through the underarm, underneath the breast or through the lower border of the areola depending on each patient‘s individual case. Patients can choose from either saline filled implants or silicone gel. The decision to get a breast augmentation can come at various stages in life, from living with a smaller size for many years to wanting to give the breasts a lift after a baby is born or a variety of other reasons. Whenever the decision is made, you must find a qualified and trained Plastic Surgeon who fits your needs and wants.

There are any number of reasons for a breast augmentation. Sometimes it is as simple as a wanting to feel better when you look in the mirror after having a baby or to have your clothes fit better. Knowing what you are looking for and what changes may occur should be discussed with your Plastic Surgeon before the surgery so that there are no surprises and the long term goals are realistic. Most plastic surgeons will have you undergo an implant sizing session so that you can “try on” different implant sizes and shapes. Using this opportunity to try on the implant sizes can give you a fairly accurate idea of the overall effect of your breast augmentation choices.

Liposuction: The Cure For Unwanted Fat

shutterstock_15109084Liposuction/ Suction-Assisted Lipectomy/ Liposculpture/Lipoplasty

Having unwanted fat around your hips, chin, upper arms, buttocks, backs, lateral thighs, inner knees, and breasts is not a very desirable feature. There are surgical procedures to help to rid your body of these localized collections, the most popular and versatile of which is liposuction. This procedure is also known by several names: Liposuction, Suction-Assisted Lipectomy, Liposculpture, and Lipoplasty.

While liposuction does define the body to make it look the way that you want it to, it is not to be used as a tool for weight loss. The end result will take on its full effect about 6-weeks after the surgery. Liposculpture is a refined method of shaping certain areas of the body to a pleasing shape, rather than just getting rid of fat.

Both men and women can choose to have liposuction performed. The procedure can be done with various types of anesthesia from general to local depending on from where the fat is being taken. This type of plastic surgery is performed by making an incision near the problem area and injecting tumescent fluid- a combination solution containing an anesthetic and a medication that minimizes bruising. There are various tools that can be used during this procedure including a laser or ultrasonic probe. These do not have to be used, as a suction cannula is the actual tool that drains the fat from the body. The cannula is placed in the fat collection and suction is used to evacuate the unwanted fat.

All different types of areas on the body can be transformed with liposuction. Each person is unique and the area will depend on what they are seeking to improve. There are factors that must be looked at to determine who is a perfect candidate for this surgical procedure. Those factors include a person that is not overweight, but is carrying extra fat in certain areas like the breasts and hips, belly or thighs. Other factors include overall medical status, the presence of hernias, the quality of the skin, prior surgeries and the overall expectations of the patient. After surgery, a compression garment must be worn for up to 4-6 weeks. If any small sutures were used to close the access sites, they might be either dissolvable or non-dissolvable. Non-dissolvable sutures will be removed 5-10 days after surgery.

While liposuction is referred to as a surgery, it is actually often performed as an outpatient procedure in the North Valley Plastic Surgery state-of-the-art Outpatient Center.  The typical recovery time varies depending on the type of liposuction performed, the amount of fat removed, and the part of the body that had the treatment.  Some procedures may let you to take no more than a weekend before resuming your normal routine.  Check with your surgeon about your individual procedure.

Constructive Uses of Injectable Fillers

Would you really use your own injectable fat filler?  Many people fight a battle with fat for his age most of their lives, shuddering any time the word is mentioned or anytime they look in the mirror. However, the deeper irony is that if your face, lips, eyes, or cheeks have begun to wrinkle or sunk in a bit with age, fat may actually be the solution to your prayers with the right qualified Scottsdale plastic surgeon. This is because by harvesting your fat and using your own autologous fat as injectable fat fillers to plump up areas of your body, you may just be able to kill two birds with one stone making your excess fat helpful for once.

The manner in which fat is gathered is pretty simple, since most of the time your Scottsdale plastic surgeon will first remove excess fat from common problem areas of the body such as hips, thighs, or the tummy via the process of liposuction.

Once this process is complete, you will have succeeded in getting a more sculpted look, but this is only the first step; as the surgeon can then turn around and create fat injections out of the lipo suctioned material that can be placed into depressed areas of the skin so that wrinkles and scars can be smoothed out with these autologous injectable fillers of your own fat! The lasting benefits of the procedure will depend largely on the skill of the surgeon that you choose to perform the liposuction and injections as well as their amount of experience. For this reason you want to carefully research your plastic surgeon and get their input before going under the knife or needle so to speak. Check your surgeons’ credentials at the website of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (WWW.Plasticsurgery.org). No doubt there are many areas on your body that could use a little touching up, so why not take advantage of your fat for once and schedule a consultation to see what an injectable fat filler could do for you.

Call North Valley Plastic Surgery at 480-304-5477 to schedule an appointment a trained and qualified Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon about your injectable fat filler options.

Artefill Treatments in Phoenix or Botox Scottsdale?

One of the reasons that people shy away from cosmetic surgery procedures is because they want fast results that are also long term results, and they don’t want to have a recovery time lasting from 1-3 weeks before the changes to take place.

However, if you are looking to reduce the signs of facial aging and, the solution may be as easy as exploring Artefill treatments. These treatments generally last around five years and, shortly after a small test patch is performed, can be immediately started. Before starting Artefill treatments in Phoenix, you should be aware that it takes about three sessions for the best results, but you can will see results immediately after the first session with the results getting better and better with each additional treatment.

The procedure works as Artefill is inserted directly under a wrinkle, which gives a support structure to the skin causing the area to smooth out.  The reason that Artefill treatments work is because they encourage the body to produce its own collagen, which in turn will fill in the wrinkle permanently, instead of the limited period of time Juvederm, Restylane, Botox in Scottsdale or any of the other shorter term injectable fillers stays on the job.

There are a few side effects that can be associated with the treatments such as bruising and irritation but the risks are no greater than any other injectable filler procedure, and rarely occur, making the Artefill treatments as safe as taking any medication that is prescribed to you by a doctor.  The result is a much tighter, younger, more natural looking face that you can be proud to show off to the world with minimal damage and a very minimal recovery time making it the one at the top choices for people who are on the go and do not have the time to kick back and recover for a few weeks

Call North Valley Plastic Surgery today to make an appointment for a free consultation to discuss whether Artefill treatments in Phoenix or Botox in Scottsdale is the right choice for you.
