Calf Implants

Calf implants are used to correct deficiencies in the calf muscle, for genetic and cosmetic reasons in both men and women. Strong, shapely, calf muscles are often developed with an effective exercise program, but in some cases, this is not the outcome.

Some people find it difficult to develop their calf muscles, even with regular exercise for that muscle group. Some calf muscles remain thin and undefined no matter what they do. Some may have had an illness that has caused the leg muscles to appear deteriorated or under-developed. With genetically thin calf muscles, even bodybuilders find that the well-defined calves they want to achieve cannot be produced by exercise alone. They may have to have calf implants in order to give them a better more sculpted look and feel. Calf implants are made to be soft, yet firm with the implant made primarily of silicone. They have the look and feel of a well exercised and developed calf muscle. Calf implants are available in different sizes to suit individual needs and shape desired.

Calf implants are not a one size fits all implant procedure. The desired results will be discussed with you at your consultation. At your pre operative visit the surgeon will measure and fit you for the implant size and shape. The surgeon can also custom design the implants for each individual patient by making a mold of each calf muscle and sending it to the manufacturer but this is a longer process.
