Reconstructive (insurance covered) surgical patients should be aware that there is no connection between self pay cosmetic surgical procedures and insurance covered procedures. Many patients will have co-pays and/or deductibles due as balance after insurance. There is no policy of insurance only, either stated or implied, in these cases.

The cost of reconstructive surgical procedures involves several charges for services provided. This includes fees charged by the surgeon, the cost of surgical supplies, outpatient facility charges, anesthesia charges and laboratory charges. Each insurance plan differs with respect to deductibles, co-payments and non-covered charges. All patients are financialiy responsible to pay all charges and expenses not covered by insurance, including co-payments, deductibles and non-covered charges.
