Skin Treatments

FotoFacialâ„¢ Skin Rejuvenation

FotoFacial™ skin rejuvenation refers to a procedure that uses pulsed light from a medical device called the Palomar-IPL, to reduce redness, sun damage, and wrinkles. This is not truly a laser skin care treatment but, rather, is a pulsed light device that has a much broader range of benefits than a simple laser.  It is also an effective treatment for rosacea. The procedure is usually accomplished in five treatment sessions and requires no downtime.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing helps minimize fine lines as they begin to occur, particularly those that form around the mouth and eyes. Laser skin treatments can be tailored to a variety of other skin problems as well. Laser Skin Treatments can be done here at North Valley Plastic Surgery with the Pearl laser, the Pearl Fractional ablative laser, the Palomar non-ablative  fractional laser, and the Vascular laser for spider veins and varicose vein treatments.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX ® is one of the most popular wrinkle treatments in the country. With just a few quick injections into the targeted area, BOTOX ® improves frown lines, crow’s feet, and deep wrinkles and furrows.

Prominent wrinkles and folds are caused by the contractions of underlying facial muscles. BOTOX® blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles so they can no longer contract. The effects of BOTOX ® can last up to four months.

Juvedermâ„¢

Juvedermâ„¢ injectable gel is a smooth gel filler that is eased under your skin to instantly smooth out those wrinkles or folds that look like parentheses along the sides of your nose and mouth. In some cases, we can fill out your cheeks and any facial scars. At North Valley Plastic Surgery, we are an Allergan Platinum-plus account. That means that we can offer special discounts, incentives, and rebates that are sponsored by the Allergan corporation because of our extremely high volume use of Juvederm, Botox, Latisse, and Vivitee skin care products. You should only have these costly treatments at a facility, such as ours, where the injectors are amongst the most experienced in the entire USA! Also your net cost will be lower due to our volume and experience.!

Your Juvederm results are so smooth and natural that everyone will notice, but no one will know.

Restylane®

Restylane® is a cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume to the face and reduces the appearance of facial wrinkles and folds. Unlike other dermal fillers, Restylane® is derived from a substance that is naturally found in the human body (as is Juvederm) and contains no animal proteins, thus reducing the risk of complications.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is a non-surgical facial contouring filler that delivers an immediate, longer lasting result.  Radiesse can be used in the cheeks, in deep facial lines, and in any area of the body that is thinned out and unhealthy appearing. We do not recommend Radiesse use in the lips.

Developed with safety and longevity in mind, Radiesse® is a new generation injectable filler that offers superior versatility for both cosmetic and reconstructive use without surgery.

ArteFill® Treatments

ArteFill® is the long lasting filler. ArteFill® is an FDA approved, non-resorbable wrinkle filler for the facial creases known as the smile lines.

This filler contains PMMA (polymethylmethacralate) microspheres and purified bovine collagen gel with an anesthetic for a more comfortable injection. These microspheres are not absorbed by your body, therefore providing permanent support to your skin for a longer-lasting, visible wrinkle correction.  ArteFill is not for use in the lips.

Chemical Peels

As we age, the accumulated effects of sun exposure, pollutants, acne, and scarring can damage our skin and cause us to look older than we are. Such skin damage can be treated with a chemical peel, a non-invasive procedure designed to promote cell growth and produce smoother, clearer skin. While these are not laser skin treatments, chemical peels do apply energy to the skin that results in the desired changes.

Chemical peels are also used to treat melasma (a skin condition characterized by irregularly shaped patches of brown skin commonly found on the face and neck), and pre-cancerous changes in the skin as well as both deep and fine facial lines (wrinkles). Chemical peels can be performed on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and legs. A chemical peel can restore a more youthful appearance to wrinkled, unevenly pigmented, sun-damaged, or blotchy skin.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique that helps repair facial skin that takes a beating from the sun and the effects of aging. At North Valley Plastic Surgery we use a device like a fine sandblaster to spray tiny crystals across the face, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the dead, outer layer of skin. We do also recommend individually tailored regimens of skin care products to maintain healthy skin for all of our patients.

Hair Removal

Millions of men and women with unwanted body hair spend money, not to mention countless hours on temporary hair removal methods such as shaving, waxing, applying chemical depilatories, and tweezing.

Hair removal is an effective treatment that works by sending energy into the pigment of the hair shaft, which is absorbed by the surrounding follicle. The heat generated by this laser skin treatment damages the follicle and stops hair production. Hair removal is appropriate for any area where there is excess hair. Since it works on more than one follicle at a time, larger areas like the back, arms or legs are just as easily treatable as smaller areas like the upper lip or bikini line. Hair removal at North Valley Plastic Surgery is the most common laser skin treatment done here.
