The Biomedic MicroPeel Plus is a chemical peel, only, treatment. It uses a 20 salicylic acid. This treatment can be done on your face as well as various other parts of your body.

What to Expect During the Treatment

The skin will be cleansed and prepped for the chemical peel. The salicylic acid will be applied with a large applicator. The acid will then be evenly applied, and you will feel a tingly sensation. This is normal and causes many patients to feel warm. The sensation will dissipate within a few minutes. The mask will be removed and sunscreen will be applied to your face.

What to Expect After the Treatment

Following the treatment, you may have redness of the face or body area that has been treated. This is normal and it will subside in a few hours. Often times, tightness and itching can occur, and is normal. Within three days, the skin should proliferate (shed). It is important to not pull at the skin, as this can cause unwanted pigment (dark spots) and scaring. Do not exfoliate until the skin has finished sloughing off. Women will notice that makeup is applied more evenly. Sunscreen should be worn at all times because you will be sensitive to the sun.
