What to Expect During the Procedure

The Botox ® Cosmetic injections area is cleansed with an alcohol pad. The areas of desired correction are marked for accuracy while expression is being performed. The Botox ® Cosmetic is then injected into the muscle. No numbing agent is necessary, as discomfort is minimal. Topical numbing cream can be used for those who are particularly sensitive. The Botox ® Cosmetic injections procedure takes about thirty minutes.

What to Expect After the Procedure

After the Botox ® Cosmetic injections, the area will be slightly red. This will resolve in about half an hour. Botox ® Cosmetic will begin to work within three to five days, with the full effect in about two weeks.
