Our Palomar Lux1064 Laser is very effective in the treatment of leg veins. The handpiece is attracted to the blood vessels (the leg veins), and will close them. The device uses a beam of light to target the blood vessels that lie near the surface of your skin.

Laser leg vein removal treatments work in tandem with sclerotherapy. This is because the sclerotherapy will collapse the leg veins, allowing for the laser to fine tune and close up any remaining veins, allowing for effective leg vein removal.

What to Expect During the Treatment

A gel will be applied to the areas being treated to protect your skin. As the handpiece is placed on the leg veins, it will warm the skin, and the beam of light will pulse, treating and collapsing the leg veins. The handpiece has a cooling agent to provide a degree of comfort. As the handpiece is moved along the leg veins, you will notice that the leg veinswill close up, and no longer be visible. (Veins themselves are colorless. It is the blood contained within the vein that gives the leg veins their color).

What to Expect After the Treatment

After the treatment, the area will be swollen and red, with possible bruising. Compression garments will be placed over the areas that were treated to allow for the blood vessels to remain closed. The garment should be worn for at least ten days. You should do minimal to no exercise for the first week.

Ongoing maintenance may be required to continue the desired results.
