A thigh lift is a surgical operation that
will take place under a general anesthetic. The procedure usually lasts
about three hours.
The surgeon will make a oval-shaped incision
at the top of the thigh and remove a section of skin and any surplus
fat. They will then pull the remaining skin together and stitch it into
place.
You will be required to stay overnight in
hospital as movement will be minimal initially. You will need 1-2 weeks
off work to rest and a high standard of hygiene will be important whilst
the area is healing to prevent infection. Sutures will be removed at
7-14 days and you will be required to wear a supporting garment to
ensure a smooth result.
Thigh lifts can also be performed using
“suture” or “threadlift” techniques. This involves the placement of
sutures or threads with tiny “teeth” into the thigh through a small
insertion. The threads are pulled upwards and secured, and the insertion
is stitched shut.
